Blogging your shop

Postby countryjoe on Mon Apr 21, 2008 7:27 pm

Hey, how ya be?

Shop tip.

If you have a blog that is another great way to promote your shop, search engines love blogs and will crawl them regularly which in turn will get you shop pages crawled.

Hi Marge, the easiest way to start is go to http://www.blogger.com/ Free and easy to setup, owned by Google.
The trick to making a blog work is to post as much as possible, at least once a week. Put keywords to do with the post in the title. Try to stick antiques or collectibles in the title. Go look at my blog, http://countryjoes.blogspot.com/ for ideas.
Also hit the search engines for antique blogs or collectibles blogs for ideas.

Hi Joe: It took me quite a while just to get the two blogs registered. I was already registered with google but I could not get the password to work so It took me awhile to get it changed. But I got it going so far so good now I have to start with some thing on there. Thanks a lot for some of the help it sure does wonders when you have someone who knows where to go. Thanks a heap. Hope you and Jan are feeling good and doing good too. Marge

It seemed appropriate to share my shop's blog here:

http://coolstufffordads.blogspot.com

CoolStuffForDads.com - http://www.coolstufffordads.com is an online store offering gifts for men.

Thanks!!

Hi Joe,

A great way to increase traffic to member's blogs is to simply comment on each others' blogs. That way, the search engine will crawl the chain and start to pick up any new sites along the way.

It may not seem much but I pick up around 10 visits a day from blogs I commented on way back in January.

Regards,

Richard

Hi Richard,
Yes it does work also posting on forums. Have been doing that for several years. Just sometimes run out of time, keeping my shops full and updated is a full time job. Not counting the packing and shipping.
